is it important to customize your weapon?
say i want to take my PvE char to PvP, and i bought a sword for xxxectos, and i dont want to customize it because i might resell it later, is it really important to customize your weapons in PvP for the 20% damage boost?

No, it isn't. Resell the weapon at any time or use on another character! My Monk makes a good Sword Warrior!

More damage is better. More damage for free is just awesome.

Make a PvP character. You don't need to show off your e-peen in GvG.
That's for RA.

He said PvP, which is more than *just* GvG. And if he wants to show off what he did in PvE by using an expensive skin, it's up to him. It won't get him respect, it won't increase his PvP skill and capability, but he can still do so if he chooses.
Random Comment:
I like the BMP weapons, and I use my PvE to PvP. There's nothing wrong with it. Elite PvE and Elite PvP people ALL need to get over their e-peen waving; neither side is gonna step down, especially on their "turf". It's a goddamn game. If you don't understand that, you probably shouldn't be playing in the first place.
@OP
If you absolutely have to use that sword in PvP of any kind, customize it and deal with the fact that you can't sell it; the +20% bonus damage is necessary. Otherwise, use a different weapon and keep the xxxectos-cost sword on hand for a powertrade or high-end sale. Personally, high-end PvE gear shouldn't go into PvP, if only because the PvP Elite will act like asshats if you don't have the requisite time put into PvP to have earned that skin through reward points. If your aim is to impress someone, this is not the way to do it; that comes with time in and hard-earned skill.
[EDIT]
Berek beat me to it.

for PvP use a pvp char they have access to all skills you unlocked and upgrades as well, why use a PvE char for PvP? if your so wealthy and you can afford something for XXXectos and never expect to resell it go ahead, the 20%isnt critical but it is welcome, and pvp chars get it for free.

the 20% is critical, especially if you are a warrior.

Look at it this way...
You are willing to pay hundreds of k for a 15^50 super rare weapon.
But you aren't willing to spend 10g to get an extra 20% damage?
A person who has a customized white wepaon with no damage mod will be doing better then you.
